To track a shipment that we had to low ball a bid for and to top it off the site is poorly designed with many glitches and the mobile app. Is junk….. Then we have all the illegal transporters on there that should be in jail along with uship for harboring them. Good luck on this one I bet there are some privacy laws that will be pushed to the limit on this one and could do this goat rodeo in finally.

Hay David, It has been more than a month since Uship was re-invented and I am still looking for all those fantastic loads you spoke of. So far all I have seen is a lot of real confusion by shippers who do not realize they are making offers to ship their stuff. I can not count on my fingers and toes the amount of times I have had to point shippers to the customer service people to help them set up their auction because the default is the reverse Dutch listing you spoke so highly of before. These people have no idea that Uship just automatically starts their listing with a really low ball offer rate. They start their listing and the next thing they get are a lot of messages from carriers telling them what they would charge for the shipment. They can not figure out why they never get any bids. Then when the automatic offers post get really high they start receiving acceptance bids on their offer price. They can’t figure that out either and they have to start rejecting the bid acceptances because they are so much higher than what they had in mind for a budget. They they get frustrated and go away. I have watched this happen on at least 20 to 30 listings I had been watching.

When are you guys going to pull your heads out and quit trying to re-invent something you obviously know nothing about!!

GET RID OF THE OFFER TYPE OF LISTINGS!!!! THEY DO NOT WORK FOR ANYONE!!!

As for the Uship payment issue. I took a load south that I bid with the Uship pay option. After I won the bid the pay option was removed by Uship which basically changed my binding contract after the fact. I learned this two hours before I delivered.
The disclosure issue is unbelievable. It borders being an anti trust issue. But you shouldn’t expect me to lie for you. Honestly is always ethically the best policy.
Your mobile app has never worked right in my case. It’s basically a search engine. If I want to bid I have to fire up the laptop. The customer has my phone number if they want to know where I am give me a call. That’s the big advantage of hiring me over the many brokers you have on here who don’t even own a truck. It’s personalized service call me anytime. My call me line is not my smart phone so the smart phone gets shut off.
I will say you do answer the phone when I call. I may not get a definitive answer but I always do get a person on the phone which is good.

David, I have a question for you. Is it transparent when I, as a carrier, am not allowed to communicate what my actual costs are to a potential customer. If I even so much as say Uship fees, I am threatened by Uship personnel that I am violating a policy that does not exist. I have read the policies thoroughly and it just says a bid must be inclusive. Uship is not acting at an arms length to provide a venue to carriers and shippers. Uship gets right in the middle of the transaction. The Uship payments program is nice but when a shipper does not want to pay $1500 up front to ship their shipment , they have no choice. They MUST use the service. There is no other type of business that does this that is not either an employer or similar entity (broker, contract carrier etc). I do not get the money to place in my bank account until a code supplied by Uship ( not the shipping customer) is given to Uship (not a dis-interested third party). I am sure that all those extra millions of dollars that Uship is now holding since the requirement to use Uship Payment was raised to $2750 is not going into an account that does not pay interest to Uship (maybe I am wrong but I doubt it).

Recently the end all type of auction was unveiled by Uship that was going to revolutionize the shipping industry the reverse dutch auction. This has caused more confusion to potential customers than anything else I have ever seen here or anywhere else. These offer and rising offer auctions just confuse the heck out of people. I got into an online argument with a shipper today because he did not realize what he was doing (shipment id 873496998).

You can dress up a pig with silk gowns and diamonds but it is still a pig. Uship needs to fix the real problems before trying to revolutionize something. You can market the heck out of this but just making me use an app that has consistently had problems will not expand your or my customer base. I once used Uship to get the majority of my loads. That is not the case any longer. I do use it but as I told one of the customer service reps, You need me more than I need you.

If you want to talk further feel free to call me, you have the number.

As far as tracking goes, since uship took over tracking it’s been hit or miss. Biggest thing uship needs to do is get rid of illegal carriers, all it does is hurt us who took the time to get our authority and the required insurance when they low ball a bid.
