you don’t have to go through a school to obtain a cdl and in most over the road companies you are allowed to bring along your significant other [or other family members (as long as the correct paperwork is filed in the company HR department)] whether or not they drive proffessionally. However, if you expect them to drive the vehicle they will need the proper liscence. Depending on your age and the amount of time you’ve been driving you may be able to train them yourself but that ussually requires owning your own truck.
