I have recently passed in a CDL driving schools and I am now planning to work in a trucking company where they offer a higher amount of salary, that is why I'm glad that I found this article. Thanks for the advice Marc!

Read your blog marc, you have good points and yes every state has different laws on cdl drivers, I’ve had my cdl since 2007 and drive in west texas in the oil field but never did take the cdl training program , but looking for changes that makes the same income or possible more but thanks marc, im a fan, of yours and the handyman, I love how yall are always battling it out, thanks marc for the inspiration, josh

Yes but in my state you need to be licensed for the type of truck//trailer combo you will be driving or face a fine. Having a OTR type tractor//trailer license to drive a 1 ton//gooseneck combo could land you a big fine. That is why in my state they have class A cdl with L endorsement. If you stay within the state, a K endorsement. No need for air brake, and the other OTR endorsements. Hazmat would be good to have. That is why you have to have the right class A cdl. A 40,000 pound 1 ton// gooseneck handles a lot different than a air braked tractor//trailer. I do not know about other States. But in my state that is the law for cdl license.
